The C8 Corvette Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) uses radio and sensor technology to check tire pressure levels. This TPMS sensor monitors the air pressure in your tires and transmit tire pressure readings to a receiver located in the vehicle. This sensor is ONLY for select vehicles which use the 433 MHz frequency (XL8). This Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor REQUIRES a Tire Pressure Monitor Nut (84413358, Sold Separately) for proper sealing.

- Which TPMS Frequency Does My Car Use?
- Vehicles which use the 433 MHz can be identified by the XL8 Option Code (RPO). This 3 digit RPO code can be found on the silver "Service Parts Identification" Label commonly located in glove box or driver side door jam or in the trunk. Check your owner manual in the Technical Data section for the location of your Service Parts Identification Label. We can also lookup the RPO code if you provide the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) for your vehicle.
- TPMS sensors measures the tire pressure and informs driver when pressure levels are low. The Tire Pressure Warning light comes on briefly when the engine is started. It provides information about tire pressures and the TPMS. The low tire pressure warning light may come on in cool weather when the vehicle is first started, and then turn off as the vehicle is driven. This may be an early indicator that the tire pressures are getting low and the tires need to be inflated to the proper pressure.
- The low tire pressure warning light alerts to a significant loss in pressure of one of the vehicle's tires. If the warning light comes on, stop as soon as possible and inflate the tires to the recommended pressure shown on the Tire and Loading Information label. The warning light will remain on until the tire pressure is corrected.
- Tire pressure sensors can become damaged if you drive on a flat tire for an extended time. Make sure to get your tire pressure sensor checked if this ever happens to you. It is also important that tire valve components be replaced whenever the tire is removed from the wheel. This will restore proper sealing of the sensor and help preserve the integrity of the TPMS sensor and valve. Maintaining proper tire inflation level is so important that beginning with the 2008 model year, TPMS are now government mandated on most new vehicles. Tire safety studies have also shown that under-inflated tires can degrade vehicle handling, decrease fuel economy, and increase tire wear.
- If the Tire Pressure Monitoring light appears as a BLINKING yellow lamp for more than one minute, and then stays solid, diagnostic service is needed. If the TPMS is not functioning properly it cannot detect or signal a low tire condition. Some vehicles may also display ‘Service Tire Monitor System’ on the Driver Information Center. If the tire pressure monitoring light comes on and stays on solid with a ‘check tire pressure’, ‘low tire pressure’, or ‘add air to tire message (for vehicles with Driver Information Center), then check and adjust all tire air pressures to the recommended levels, then drive the vehicle to turn the light off.
- If the light flashes for about a minute and then stays on, there may be a problem with the TPMS. If the problem is not corrected, the light will come on at every ignition cycle.
- The TPMS does not replace normal monthly tire maintenance. Maintain the correct tire pressures. See the Vehicle Care Section of your owner manual for vehicle specific features and functions of the Tire Pressure Monitor System.
